Week 5 (Beebe, AR)

Monday Went Frisbee golfing with the zone leaders Elder Smith & Elder Adair and the Sister missionaries for P day in the morning the sisters where the only 2 on a team cause we didn't have that much frisbees so it was all 1v1 v sisters that is until I accidentally threw mine into the river 3rd hole lol so I had to just end up on a team with my Companion Elder Goasland who we Just call Goose and I'm Mav so together we where team top gun and got the most successful pars throughout the 18 hole course so woo. We then afterwards went off with the Searcy Elders/Zone leaders to lunch at taco bell also known as basically the cheapest place to eat at here as a missionary lol. We then later went back to the zone leaders apartment In Searcy where Elder Adair who is super patriotic lol got a huge package the size of mini refrigerator full of 4th of July stuff from his mom cause he's obsessed with it and it's his favorite holiday it was full of tons of flags red white and blue Oreos everything u could imagine and tons of bacon it was super cool and the red white and blue Oreos had pop rocks in em lol we split up with our companions to go see some potential investigators in the area Me and Elder Goose only found one family that was around to answer but it was this one lady and her husband who had just had a stroke but was doing well she was super into religion and other church's so she said she would deffintly be interested in meeting with us next Tuesday. We then met back up with the zone leaders to go Zaxby's a awesome fried chicken place that has a whole cool memorial on the wall to one of my favorite movies the blues brothers so it was super cool going there and just like anything u can expect from the south there chicken was great. We then went to stay the night with the zone leaders that night at there place cause we have district meeting Tuesday morning.

Tuesday Went to a district meeting this morning really getting to know some of the other elders from our district but all really close to going home. After the district meeting though we all decided to go eat at this really cool Mexican Restaurant that is literally made out of clay called Mi Ranchito we all got to talk hang out and chill with each other there and what other better way to do so then with burritos lol. We then all said farewell there afterwards each returned to our areas to do the rest of our missionary work for the week. Me and Goose went to talk to a family we've been meeting with and teaching called Ma and Pa Bradford Ma Bradford isn't really interested in any church Pa Bradford told us as when we got there we found him out back but he talked to us about how he's really enjoyed going since we've invited him and how he feels like he has a testimony of our church so we went over the restoration pamphlet we gave him the holy ghost was able to re-jog his memory on a lot of it and he really enjoyed it he remembered his brother in law Jimmy baptism into the Beebe branch and really feeling the spirit there we went off of it and I was able to challenge him to baptism on July 15th He instantly said yes and was excited to get baptized. We then headed over to visit a member family that night the grays the dad is the only non member but has interest and attends church unfourtantly he's a truck driver and is only home on the weekends but we played some badminton with there kids with them prayed with them and said we stop by for the weekend to see if he was home and told them to leave us a call if they ever need anything

Wednesday Me & Goose Got to go with the zone leaders to MLC (Mission Leadership Council) Me and Goose where invited because it's the first time Beebe has had a baptism in over a year and where seeing tons of success got to see our mission presidents final testimony and talk (President Wakola) while we where there it was really awesome and I can't wait to see him as one of the seventy. We meet the new mission president who apparently served his mission here which is pretty cool next week. After the meeting Me and Elder Goaslind/Goose where dropped off at the church to teach book of Mormon class we went over some of the stories trough the first 5 chapters in 1st Nephi showing how the Lord always provides a way for us even when he sent Nephi back into Jerusalem but as long as where faithful the Lord always has a plan and can always deliver us. We then ended the night with basketball with the zone leaders and the 1st short funny councilor brother Park who's only like 5,6 but slays it at basket ball we got a ride back from him to our apartment to end the night

Thursday Over miles on the car today so we went out walking in the 95 degrees humidity of Arkansas to see if we could meet up with some investigators and less actives unfourtantly no luck but we got a call from sister Norwood that she mixed up some of her meds had some really low blood pressure and needed a blessing I had a feeling we'd see her today but not to mark her down to visit and I guess i found out why on the way there we encountered an really elderly gentlemen who had fallen from his electric scooter outside and really needed help up I thank God that we where there at that time on the way to sister Norwoods to be able to help him up he was quite of large stature and we where having such a difficult time being able to help him up but as I said before the Lord provides and I some how had a great strength from heavnly father come over me and found the strength to left him up from behind. His wife then came out thanked us for the help and was able to bring him back inside. We where then able to go over and give sister Norwood a blessing that helped her out. After all that we where fed by the Parks for a very interesting dinner we where able to melt our own cheese and cook steak it was a pretty fun dinner and where able to return to our apartment with a fixed ac woo

Friday Went out proselyting looking for new investagaters unfourtantly just for a few doors slammed in our face lol but we got to go to ma and pa Bradfords later that night for squriel and rabbit for dinner tasted pretty good just a darker nice chicken we went over the first 2 lessons with Pa Bradford getting him ready for his baptism he understood everything about the 3 kingdoms and all went really well. We then stopped by Jimmy hoping to teach his granddaughter Anna unfourtantly she told us that she's just not ready even after going over the first lesson with her and just says shes not interested at the time being but Jimmy knows she'll be baptized one day and hey we all got our agency all we can do is set that example and try to lead the best we can but will give it time she still attends church with Jimmy though and all seems well so will see when she's ready. But Jimmys got 100 pounds of taneriet ready for the 4th of July! And we got to go see a really awesome family in the branch tonight The Frees Brother Free got to show us a ton of his exotic animals has all sorts of snakes and spiders and birds they have a dog named ringo but sister free even has her own pet skunk lol. They have a bunch of turtles & The whole family is awesome and full rednecks lol but there all obsessed with going to comic con each year and Star Wars He then showed us all the different light sabers and helmets he has across his wall and we where invited to go back Sunday to burn some stuff with the office elders so very excited

Saturday Went to the weekly Saturday Flea market this morning went over to a family we teach there her name is Debra and each week we leave her with one off the lesson pamphlets she's super interested in our religion being a Christian her self and always has lots of cool questions that we get to go over with her we gave her the plan of salvation pamphlet last time so we got to share some scriptures with her from the bible about the 3 kingdoms of glory in 1st Corinthians 15:40-42 & 2nd Corinthians 12:2 was really cool and went really well she is now a progressing Investigator and left her with a gospel of Jesus Christ pamphlet to go over with her next week

Sunday Now getting rides to the church with the Parks to save miles which is pretty fun it was testimony meeting today went up introduced myself and shared my testimony on the gospel blessing and bringing families together we then after church went to go see and give sacrament to sister Norwood she's doing really well. Tonight we where fed some really good fried chicken from president Sherwoods family and then got to go over to meet up with the office elders to burn a ton of stuff at the Frees it was a huge fire and Brother Free got to scare one of the other elders with an awesome red ribbon snake. We then saw this hilarious video online called What Mormons really believe! It's an hilarious video on YouTube that u should look up where they think we have the atonement trough and worship Joseph Smith and will be judged before him God and Jesus at the last day. It's just ridiculous seeing what other people think we believe.
