Week 33 (Glenwood, AR)

Hey everyone had a pretty fun experiencing week this week. On Tuesday we got a ride up to hot springs for another fun district meeting. Then came back to Glenwood for studies then got to have dinner with Sister Lutrell in our Branch & her son Jimmy who rides us around a lot he was a missionary himself & a former member but had his records removed a while ago but we seemed to spiritually up lift him with a spiritual message Elder Adair shared reading Alma 50:1-6 & us taking about building our spiritual fortresses continually to be able to stand start fast at all times & bore our testimonies on missionary work. It seemed to spark an interest In him also bearing his testimony about missionary work also asking what church sends out 18 to 20 year old out to teach about Jesus. We testified to him only the true & living church. He said he had prayed about joining & coming back to the church again & had got an answer that said "mirror me" & wondered what It could have meant. Elder Adair gave him Mosiah 18 to read great chapter. He said he would read, ponder & pray about it & where going back there again to have dinner with them on Tuesday so can't wait to see how it goes.

On Wednesday we went to do our weekly Wednesday service at the senior center again making more packed lunches for them again always great to do service. They gave us some peanut butter cookies as appreciation & then once we where done there we went to visit Sister Hill in our Branch & read some more D&C with her that was great. Her dog Ava though who stays there that's not even her dog lol is the neighbors dog that's she's constantly trying to get to go home lol was trying to attack us & lick In the face most of the time but it went pretty well. After visiting with her we planned for a plan of salvation lesson with an Investigator family of ours that we where eating dinner with that night the Wilson. Our dinner with them went great they made us tacos & Elder Adair had a eating contest with the Son in law Taylor they each had 14! Tacos so that was funny lol after eating with them we all got to sit down & be able to teach the plan of salvation to them. Teaching on how the main sublime message of our Church is that God is our loving heavenly father & that he cares about each & every one of us & that there is a way to be able to return back & live with him. The spirit was so strong in the room as we where teaching them it all testified & made since to them & they even talked about coming to church it all went great & couldn't think of a better way to have ended the night.

On Thursday I had more physical therapy in the morning with my physical therapist Jessie who also told us his address for when we get to start coming over & teaching him after my therapy & turns out he lives right next to our apartment complex how funny & fortunate is that! He also said he was gonna be able to get the chance to read from the book of Mormon this weekend & read a restoration pamphlet we gave him so that's exciting. After physical therapy we decided to go get lunch at a hibachi food truck a bunch of people have told us about & it's a good thing we did cause as soon as we got there a member in our ward pulled up to us telling us how his mom needed a blessing so we got to go over & give one to her she was super comforted & appreciative of me being able to give her one. So that was great. We then went back to the apartment & had our lunch & studies then got to go to a dinner later that night with a youth in our Branch Dusty & his friend Noah. He has met with missionaries before & has gone to church with Dusty before but had some questions that we got to teach & explain to him since he kind of stopped investigating before cause some people shoved some way to deep doctrine stuff down his throat that they couldn't explain so it was great getting to address his concerns though & teach & explain stuff to him. He had a great spiritual understanding of everything we where able to explain to him & said it all made since. He also said he'd probably start going to church with Dusty again & agreed to meet with us again on next Friday! So that's exciting & we also got to get our hair cut that night by Sister Hawthorne. Pretty good night.

On Friday we had exchanges with the Hot Springs Elders I went with Elder Trejo up to hot springs & that was fun we went around home teaching with a member up there Brother Burnside who lived in Germany for 9 years In the Air Force. We got to go home teach, help visit & talk to a bunch of people always great being able to lend out a helping hand. Then he took us to a nice Mexican restaurant afterwards & that was fun.

On Saturday we exchanged back after having the privilege to attend a service for a member in Hot Springs deceased husband Brother Gibbs. IT was great getting to all be there for her. Me & Elder Adair then went back to Glenwood & tried to see some potentials who weren't home. But we got to go visit Sister Myrick (The lady we gave the blessing to on Thursday) with Brother Rubly in our Branch later & check up on her & see how she was doing she seemed to be doing well & was super appreciative of having us over. After that we had dinner with Brother Rubly to end our night.

On Sunday for church we had a broadcast from Salt Lake to the south eastern region of the U.S. We got to hear from one of our twelve apostles in the Church Elder Bednar so that was awesome. Talked about real repentance & how to remember our Redeemer Jesus Christ & how we have to include him. It is his atonement & sacrifice that makes our repentance valid & trough him he can help us to be forgiven of all things as long as we have the real intent trough him. After church we had lunch with the Robbins in our branch & after lunch with them we came back to our apartment & had studies then had another terrific dinner with the Wilson that night & got to teach them our purpose as missionaries to them in bringing others to Christ & inviting into Baptism. They again had a great understanding so hopefully they'll be able to pray & continue to be able to ponder these things & will be able to invite them. I'm definitely loving the people we get to teach down here in Glenwood & am looking forward to this next transfer that will both be staying for! & can't wait to talk to y'all next week!
