Had a pretty good first week here in Glenwood our first night getting here last Monday we got to be apart of a parade in a manger float throwing out candy and light the world cards to people and kids it was great to see everyone's excitement. The next day our first full day in Glenwood we got up for studies and unpacking and before we could even unpack we got a call from a guy named Jimmy saying he was outside who apparently used to be a member & actually served a mission in California startled us at first just being outside but was a really nice guy who drove us around & introduced us to a few people. Later that day we went out & tried to go see some people & ended up somehow getting followed by what seemed like nearly every dog in town almost lol I think it's safe to say where being haunted. Later that night we got to go see our Branch mission leader Brother Craw super cool guy we got to go over the branch roster list with him. He then took us out to dinner and showed us the church building. Wednesday we got to go & do some service at the senior center and got to make & pack lunches it was great. I always love getting to do service for others.
Later we got to go see a less active later that day sister Hill she was super excited to see us and wanted to read some of the Doctrine & Covenants got to read some with her & she's excited to continue reading with us on Wednesdays. On Thursday we got to go down to and got in contact with a former Investigator named Richard Collins talked to him about the book of Mormon which he's been reading with the bible and is already seeing how they support one other which was super cool he showed us some trucks he repaired afterwards we took some pictures with them. We went to an over 1000 years old Indian village afterwards called Kadoha really just a tourist attraction but we found a house with a barn out there in the middle of nowhere out in the the woods that looked like straight out of the walking dead season 2. Later that night we got to go have dinner at our Branch Presidents house Brother Rowton. Super cool guy had some of the best chili I've ever had with really good deer meat. On Friday we went to meet a former Investigator family named the Hearn's It was just sister hearn she was a super nice lady & said she was so excited to have the missionaries come by again so invited us to come & teach her & her husband the next day. So the next night we had a great lesson on the plan of salvation with the Hearns and we brought up eternal families and how we don't believe in "till death do us part" and they got PEAKED! It was awesome cause we left with that cliffhanger haha. We briefly explained sealings and Mrs. Hearn was like "just tell me!" Haha it was awesome. They where super awesome & excited about everything we where teaching & we have a return with them for next Saturday! Sunday we went to church and we passed the sacrament. Not much priesthood here. We went home and studied and then some members, the Robbins, took us to see a less active who needs a lot of service. And we met her and filled her bottles at a spring and got to know the Robbins really well. They invited us over for dinner and we had breakfast for dinner and it was awesome. They have an adorable 15 year old bassid hound named S mores & a sweet wood cabin. We talked to his nonmember parents and they're super sweet! We shared the video "the will of God" and they loved it! We came back and our appointments fell through so we finished studies. Super fun first week here in Glenwood & I love the people also some promising people where teaching grateful to be here & hopefully we can continue to make this small wonderful Glenwood branch grow.
